The "Complete Streets" concept is intended to enable safe access for motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians. It’s a great idea. But, you need funding to make it happen. Here’s the good news -- using a complete streets approach, you can tap into valuable funding sources that otherwise would not be available.
This presentation provides several examples of funding sources that local agencies should be aware of. Although presented by the Michigan Department of Transportation, most of these options are available in other states too.
